The 7th annual Children's Film Festival Seattle is underway at the Film Forum Cinemas. The event will feature more than 100 films from 30 countries, ranging from live animation, shorts, feature-length films and historical pieces.
Audiences will also see live performances, including a special performance of "String," a new theater piece for very young audiences by Seattle movement artist Mary Margaret Moore.
Families also have the chance to take part in two hands-on workshops during the festival: Movie Making with Sock Puppets and Claymation Madness.
General admission to most festival programs is $10 for adults and $7 for children. There are additional fees for workshops; to register for either workshop visit www.nwfilmforum.org/live/page/workshops/86.
Additional screenings for school and childcare groups will be scheduled Mondays through Fridays, Feb. 6 to 24.
Film Forum Cinemas is located at 1515 12th Ave. in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
