Ski weekend at Bachelor

Jan. 13 to 16: $550 for single occupancy. Spend Martin Luther King Jr. weekend at one of the largest resorts in North America. Mount Bachelor offers skiers, snowboarders and Nordic skiers great conditions, plenty of snow, big terrain and short lift lines. It features four different terrain parks, an Olympic-sized super pipe, plus hills and trails for tubing, snowshoeing and dog sledding. Trip includes three nights of lodging, transportation and gear. Lift tickets are not included but can be purchased at the mountain. The trip is Friday through Monday. (Double occupancy: $375 each; three to a room: $315 each; four to a room: $285 each).

Explore Northwest Trek Jan. 14: $40. Explore this 723-acre park, home to more than 200 North American animals with lake, trails and beautiful natural exhibits. Enjoy the Discovery Center and Baker Research Cabin or lunch at the Fir Bough Café. Dress warmly and bring rain gear. (Ages 4 to 13: $30; 3 and under: $5).

Bavarian Ice Fest Jan. 14: $50. The entire family can spend the day in a traditional Bavarian village sledding, eating bratwurst and shopping. Travel to Leavenworth and watch as the town is transformed into a beautiful lighted display. Fun for the entire family. (Ages 6 to 12: $25; 5 and under: $5).

Tubing at Paradise Jan. 15: $35. Travel to the tubing hill at the Paradise Lodge on Mount Rainier for a great day in the snow. Dress warmly and get ready to go for a wild ride Saturday, Dec. 31 or Sunday, Jan. 15. Fun for all ages. (Ages 6 to 12: $25; 5 and under: $5).

After-work kayak class

Jan. 18. $20. Head to the pool to learn self-rescue techniques and paddling skills so you'll be more confident on open-water trips. Pool clinic is Wednesday. Minimum age: 12.

Bald Eagle Float

Jan. 21. $55. Float down the docile Skagit River among one of the largest concentrations of bald eagles in the lower 48.

You could view up to 200 on just one trip. Family-friendly trip; reasonable accommodations can be made for persons with special needs.

Bungee jumping Jan. 21. $125. Head to the base of Mount St. Helens to bungee jump off the highest bungee bridge in the country. A full 20 stories high, the spectacular private bridge is nestled in an emerald forest above a sparkling river. If adrenaline is what you crave, you won't be disappointed. Fee includes two jumps and the coveted Dangerous Sports Club T-shirt. Minimum weight: 90 pounds.

Horseback riding Jan. 21. $80. Head to Elbe, a town on the outskirts of Mount Rainier National Park, for a two-hour guided afternoon horseback ride. No experience is necessary; minimum age: Family-friendly trip.

Moonlight Snowshoe Jan. 21. $35. Snowshoe by the light of the moon. Gear, guide and instruction are provided. Minimum age: 12.

Ski n' board White Pass Jan. 22. $95. Head for the snow at White Pass. The trip fee includes gear, lift ticket and transportation; at sign up, request a lesson for no extra charge. (Transportation only: $20).

Snowmobile Cascades Jan. 22. $125. Fun, action, beauty and excitement await For those seeking a fun-filled winter experience, this trip through the Cascade Mountains is for you. Helmet, boots, gloves and snowsuit are provided. Dress in layers. Fun for the entire family. Minimum age to drive: 16. (Adult passengers: $90; passengers 15 and younger: $60) Family-friendly trip; reasonable accommodations for persons with special needs.

Ski n' board Summit Jan. 28. $40. Spend a fun day on the slopes at the Summit at Snoqualmie Saturday, Jan. 28. (Transportation only: $20).

Winter survival trip Jan. 28 and 29. $65. Head to Paradise at Mount Rainier National Park for an overnight trip to learn the basics winter travel, shelter construction and winter survival basics, backcountry cooking and "leave-no-trace" camping. This winter expedition departs from JBLM Saturday and returns Sunday. Participants must attend a pre-trip class Jan. 25 at the NAC at JBLM Lewis North. Fee includes the winter camping class, group gear, entry to Mount Rainier National Park and two meals. Minimum age: 18.

Ski n' board at Crystal Jan. 29. $40. Head for the snow and spend the day at Crystal Mountain. (Transportation only: $20).

ATV rider course Feb. 4. $25. If you've never been on an all-terrain vehicle or want to work on your riding skills, this clinic is for you. ATV Safety Institute-certified instructors will guide you through the fun and excitement of safely riding an ATV. Ride rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Fee includes ATV, helmet and goggles. ASI ATV Rider Course Certification will be awarded upon completion. Minimum age: 16.

Indoor skydiving Feb. 4. $80. Soar inside a vertical wind tunnel. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced flyer, you'll always be able to improve your skills and abilities while learning from professional instructors. Enjoy two weightless minutes of flight time with instructor. Call for weight restrictions and exclusions. Minimum age: 3. Family-friendly trip.

Ski/board Mission Ridge Feb. 4. $45. Travel across the mountains to ski at the beautiful Mission Ridge Ski Resort Feb. 4. (Transportation only: $25).
