For those looking for one more activity to get the blood flowing and a chance to enjoy the great outdoors in the state of Washington, snowmobiling is a great way to do so.

The Mountain Springs Lodge, hidden in the small community of Plain (near Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee) offers a variety of snowmobile excursions that introduce visitors to the many beautiful sights the Cascade Mountain Range offers up.

There are six trips available, ranging from $65 up to $249, with some lasting just one hour and others taking five hours.

Tour 1, called Suzy's Slip and Slide ($65 for drivers), is a one-hour basic tour. Drivers can see great views of Entiat Ridge, Lake Wenatchee, Nason Ridge and the entire Cascade Mountains. Tour 2A, called Grandpa's Rocker ($99 for drivers), runs between one and two hours and covers 10 miles, ranging up to 2,400 feet in elevation. Tour 2B, the Faultline Loop ($119 for drivers), is two hours, and covers 30 miles and up to 3,000 feet. Riders also get to see Dirtface Mountain. Tour 3, or Sno Cone ($165 for drivers), is about three hours and is the organization's most popular trip. Tour 4, The Mile High Extravaganza ($209 for drivers), includes lunch and takes more adventurous riders 5,800 feet into the Cascades. Tour 5, The Super Duper Cooper Run ($249 for drivers), is the longest excursion, taking about five hours for a trip into Wenatchee to go to the Cooper Store and Café for a burger and fries.

There are also night snowmobile tours available ($129 per driver), with each running between 90 to 120 minutes and giving riders a chance to gaze at the sky full of stars and see the forest at its very darkest. The lodge also offers a moonlight snowmobile dinner ride ($169 per person) that includes a dinner of steak, fresh filet of salmon, seasonal vegetables, potatoes, salad, fresh bread, coffee, tea, spiced cider and dessert back at the main lodge.

The lodge also offers various overnight packages on the weekdays (in addition to a military discount). The Snowmobile Adventure Package ($504) includes a one-night stay in a King Suite lodging for two, a snowmobile moonlight dinner ride for two and a breakfast basket delivered to the room in the morning.

There is also the Winter Sweetheart Adventure Package ($559), which adds a sleigh ride for two in addition to all that comes with the snowmobile adventure package.

Reservations are required for the snowmobile tours, and all drivers must have a valid drivers license.
