When the air cools and the days darken to dreary desolation, trade the dissonance of city noise for the cozy solitude of a winter cabin.  The season offers a peaceful beauty among snow covered hills and crystallized pines, an oasis for the soul.  The warm fireplaces beckon while backyards become a skier's playground.  Nestled near waterfront, or tucked in the woods, luxurious or rustic, spacious or snugly romantic, the following list provides a plethora of possibilities for frosty frolickers or those wanting to cuddle against the chill.

My favorite cabins are between Steven Pass Ski Resort and Leavenworth. They come in different sizes, cozy, located by a river and professional run: www.natapoc.com/
