Have you ever had a day when the kids run you ragged? Maybe your 5-year-old is upstairs painting the walls with peanut butter and jelly. And your 6-year-old is trying to roll out cheese to make cookies. Your 3-year-old is crying because "Dora the Explorer" is over. Then the phone rings. Sound familiar?
Maybe it is time to find a place for you and the kids to chill out. Here are some kid-friendly places located throughout the Puget Sound that offer relaxation for parents and activities at affordable prices for the kids.
3-2-1 Bounce

Drop-in - Drop in on a Monday or Tuesday and let your kids play. Join them on the play equipment or sit and relax on the premises. Hours: Session I 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; Session 2 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: $6 per child. Adults are free.
Play groups - Play groups accommodating up to 16 participants are one hour long and include full use of a large lounge area for relaxing and easy viewing of children.
Hours: Monday through Thursday before 2 p.m. Cost: $110 for up to 16 participants. Adults are free.
Cloud City Coffee

Cloud City Coffee has comfy couches, books and a play area for kids and adults. It's a great place to go and relax while the kids play. This is great when you are planning a trip to the city.
Baby Loves Disco
Baby Loves Disco is a monthly family dance party. Kids come with their parents to let loose for an afternoon dance party featuring music spun and mixed by real disc jockeys blending classic disco tunes from the '70s and '80s. This club includes bubble machines, baskets of scarves, egg shakers, and a chill out room with tents, books and puzzles.

Odyssey I

Odyssey I includes a jungle gym play park, a laser tag arena, and a game room. Parents can participate or sit and watch the kids run wild. Hours: Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Pump It Up

Pump it Up offers pop-in play time. Kids can play while parents visit and make new friends. Hours: 10-11:15 a.m. for ages 2-6. Cost: $7 per child. Parents are free.
Sprinker Rec Center and Ice Arena

The recreation center offers all sorts of programs for kids including ice skating, indoor court sports, and a skateboard park. The cost of ice skating is $6 for adults, $5 for students ages 6- 17, and $4 for kids 5 and under. Skate rental is $2 per person.

Tot Spot Café

The Tot Spot Café is open for drop-in and play groups. This 2,500 square foot facility offers monitored play for children and scheduled events for parents including a book club, crafts, and guest speakers. Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and Family Fun on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $6 for one child for one hour or $12 for an all-day pass, and $10 for two children for one hour or $18 for an all-day pass.
