Fashion isn't just about wearing beautiful clothing or timeless accessories, it's about how you feel when you wear them. When designed, crafted and worn well, fashion can create a full experience for the wearer. No storefront in Tacoma knows that as well as Satori, a life and style boutique determined to give customers a full fashion experience when they walk through into the storefront.

"We build very intimate one-on-one relationships with people here at Satori," said Marshall Samuela, a sales specialist at Satori. "We create a very personal shopping experience. It goes beyond what we do here at the storefront or online. It's from start to finish."

Satori has been a staple of Tacoma's fashion scene since 2013, when Diamond Stevens opened the boutique on 6th Ave. In addition to founding the boutique, Stevens also serves as Satori's store manager, overseeing five employees. A year-and-a-half after she opened Satori, Stevens moved the boutique to its current location on Pacific Avenue. The storefront has been nestled along the busy street front of the University of Washington Tacoma campus ever since.

Customers entering through Satori's French doors are met with an open, sun-filled showroom with a curated offering of clothing, accessories, home goods, plants and apothecary items.

"There's a price point here for everyone," said Samuela, who has worked at Satori for three years now. "We also offer a silhouette that's not as streamlined, but still within trend."

Brands available at Satori range from mid to low-price points and are produced both locally and nationally. Apolis, Baleen, BB Dakota, Lush, The Fifth Label, Herbivore Botanicals, New Balance and OtherWild are just some of the brands available at the boutique.

"Our customers come in often because we change our inventory so frequently. So, it's easy for us to ask them how items (they bought) worked out for them," said Samuela. "It's all about those nuances, which make the (shopping) experience here different. It distinguishes us from other boutiques in the area."

Satori customers can also pick up fresh flower bouquets from Wildflower and Co. at the storefront every Friday. Wildflower and Co. is a Puyallup-based florist that delivers to Tacoma and surrounding areas. Customers can even pre-order bouquets by calling Satori before Friday each week.

"When someone comes in our doors and they buy something, we follow up with them afterwards," said Samuela. "We can easily contact them and ask how the item worked out for them because we've created these personal relationships with them."
