Less than a 45-minute drive from Joint Base Lewis-McChord is The Outlet Collection Seattle, which is a great stop for all your holiday shopping. It is the largest fully enclosed outlet mall in the Pacific Northwest and home to more than 130 stores. The mall features top-brand outlet stores such as Coach, Adidas, Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Nike, the Gap and many more.  The anchor stores are Bed, Bath & Beyond, Sam's Club, Nordstrom Rack, Burlington Coat Factory and the Old Navy Outlet.

Outlet shopping is a great way to save money on holiday gifts. Shops like the Coach Outlet offer crazy deals on high-end gifts. One popular bag, the Lenox Satchel, retails for $395 but can be snagged for $118.50 at the outlet. That is a savings of 70 percent. Rather than shopping at the Zales retail store, hit the Zales Outlet. An entire section of the store is dedicated to clearance items featuring closeouts and discontinued styles. You can save a bundle on jewelry by shopping here.  The Adidas and Nike outlet stores are great places to shop for the athlete in your family.

Increase your savings even more by asking for a military discount.  Retailers love the military, and more than 50 stores and restaurants offer military discounts ranging from 10 to 30 percent off.  Eddie's Jewelry offers 30 percent.  Adidas, Claires and Finish Line all offer 20 percent off. The rest offer 10 to 15 percent discounts. These significantly add to your savings. Also ask for the Stylish Savings Coupon Book at the Court B entrance or the mall offices for another way to save.

During the month of December, the mall has some holiday events scheduled. Every day through Dec. 24, Santa is available for photos. Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, enjoy cookies with Mrs. Claus. The event includes activities and food for families, and best of all, it's free. On Dec.10, bring your pet to the mall from 3-7 p.m. for a photo with Santa. Domestic pets only, and all pets must be leashed or in a carrier.

The Outlet Collection Seattle is very family friendly. Open year round, the mall offers an indoor Pacific Northwest-inspired soft play area.  There is also a carousel, kiddie rides and family restrooms.

A new venue opened this month at The Outlet Collection Seattle. The popular gaming and restaurant chain Dave and Buster's offers the latest and greatest games, good food, a premium stocked bar and sports viewing, it is sure to appeal to the whole family and will be a fun place to take a break from shopping.
