Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) will host a Fort Lewis Centennial Celebration, Aug. 31, on Watkins Field at 1 p.m. Department of Defense identification card holders and their guests are invited to join in the celebration at this free event.

JBLM Family & Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) will announce event details at jblmmwr.com/ as they are finalized. From the early days of the fort, built on land donated by Pierce County, to the joining of McChord Air Force Base and Fort Lewis into JBLM, the base has been an integral partner to the South Sound communities surrounding it.  The afternoon event is expected to highlight significant happenings from the post's illustrious history.
