(Ranger Staff) - It was a Valentine's Day to remember for 700+ military spouses and girlfriends with loved ones deployed overseas.  Instead of staying home with lonely hearts, they were treated by the Ranger and Airlifter newspapers to a free day of pampering in Lacey at St. Martin's University.

"The line stretched out the door starting a half hour before the event was announced to start," said Ken Swarner, publisher of the newspapers.  "The ladies were overwhelmed with the thousands and thousands of dollars worth of beauty treatments, door prizes and gifts handed out for free."

The day's event included free massage, teeth whitening, hypnosis, food, tarot card readings, make-overs, skin treatments, wine tasting, jewelry making, dance classes and more.  All donated by local merchants.

"We wanted these ladies to know that there are a host of people that realize the sacrifices they make to our country, especially on Valentine's Day," Swarner added.
