One of the symbols of the holidays is the Christmas Tree. Tis the season to cut down a big tree and bring it indoors. There are multiple locations across the Pacific Northwest that hosts a wide array of trees to choose from. Green, blue, Spruce or Pine there is something for everyone. When finding the perfect tree there are a few things to consider. First, measure the space in the house where you plan on erecting it, twice. Do this before you go on your tree hunt. Take heavy gloves and the tape measure with you, and a tarp or heavy blanket to protect your vehicle. Trees with shorter needles such as Fraser or Firs are easier to decorate; they also offer more space between branches. Choose a tree stand that holds an accurate amount of water so you don't spend a lot of time having to refill it, and make sure it is sturdy enough to hold the entire diameter of the trunk. The local Boy Scout troops are out and about selling trees this season. Boy Scout Troop #71 is selling Christmas Trees on the Steilacoom Christmas Tree Lot, located in downtown Steilacoom between the Real Estate Office and the Barber Shop.
