I had a question about childcare... Do you know who is providing the care and where it will be? And do you know if they will be separating the children by ages and if so how many kids/adults will there be, etc etc., Thank you!
Thanks so much for this event!! I've been really excited to find info about how to sign up for it! :) Can't wait!
What if your FRG doesn't know anything about this and you still want to attend?
I rarely carry cash... so going to the commissary for me is a hassle. I hate having to go to the ATM just so I have a couple dollars on hand before I do any shopping so I don't feel like a jerk for not tipping. That's just an all around huge inconvenience. If they want to make it easier... they should ask people first if they want their groceries bagged, then just add on a $3 fee to each grocery purchase which the bagger gets at the end of their shift. I'd rather have a 17 year old do it for free than have to pay someone.
These are my guys!!! Way to go Charlie Company!!! Too bad 2nd PLT & my husband weren't with you for this... anyways, great job!!!
I believe that the soldier should have the right to put anyone they want as the recipient of death benefits. Whether it be a best friend, parents, spouse, girlfriend... it should be the soldiers choice. But, when it comes to health benefits, housing, post privileges,etc... I believe it's important to have the legality of being married to have these privileges. And that's just what they are.... a privilege. Yes, girlfriends, best friends, domestic partners all put in long skype chats, hours waiting... but they have not made that ultimate decision to stand by their soldier for the long hall, made the commitment for life. They still have the option to walk away. I cherish my privileges as an Army Wife... and I could not image having to live in the civilian world during this deployment without the support the Army offers behind me. If you want those privileges, make the choice to legally become a part of your soldiers life and a part of the Army family.
Awesome story!!! This is my husbands platoon! :) Way to go guys!! Keep up the good work!!!
Hourly childcare is also available free for families of deployed soldiers. All that is needed is to register and show orders. If I recall, it lasts for a month after they return as well.
Personally, I think it's important for the civilian world to see the welcome homes... there isn't enough media coverage of what the families sacrifice and endure, that I think any glimpse into what a military family has to go through is a good one.
I have plans to surprise my daughter when her father comes home on RnR this Spring at her school. I'm not going to tell her that he's home and he's going to surprise her at school... I hope to get it all on video. It will definitely be a moment to remember.
Congratulations on your article, Amanda!! Melissa did an amazing job!!! :)
