Rear Admiral Eleanor Valentin, the first Filipino American female to be the Commander of Navy's Medicine Support Command and the first female director of the U. S. Navy's Medical Service Corps, will be the guest speaker at the next Fall 2014-15 Saint Martin's University Leadership Lecture Series. The areas under Valentin's command include the Naval Medical Logistics Command, the Navy Medicine Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education Command, the Navy Medicine Information Systems Support Activity, the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center and the Naval Medical Research Center. Valentin is a Seattle native and holds Bachelor of Science degrees in zoology and psychology from the University of Washington, a Master in Public Health (Health Policy and Planning), and a Master of Science degree in Public Health (Biostatistics) both from the University of Hawaii.
