College isn't just about studying, it's also about learning how to be a unsupervised adult. There are a few things you need to know right away. One), dry humping in public doesn't improve your street cred. Unless you're a declared exhibitionist, you will regret finding photos on Facebook next week. Two), offer coffee the next morning, but never breakfast. That bacon frying smells distinctly like commitment. Three), you'll have to initiate a "This didn't mean anything" conversation. It's troublesome, but you'll avoid awkward run-ins later. If you're looking for more helpful back-to-school tips, Harlequin Productions' improv troupe Something Wicked hosts Something Wicked Goes Back to School, an Improv Comedy Show. They will present the joys (and tragedies) of going back to school, with the help of your suggestions. Something Wicked knows to approach everything with a sense of humor. When your roommate makes a grumpy quip about the noise keeping her awake, quip back.

SOMETHING WICKED GOES BACK TO SCHOOL, 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, Historic State Theater, 202 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia, $10-$15, 360.786.0151
