I have a monkey on my back. In fact, I have one hundred monkeys on my back. And they're all ready to party! That's right, one of Tacoma's most popular events makes an epic return. If you've never been to a 100th Monkey bash, here's what you've been missing: wine, food, art, wine, entertainment and, uh... did I mention wine? Participants bring the food and drinks - including non-alcoholic beverages, as this is an all-ages event - but the rest is provided. The Kim Archer Band supplies the music, and monkey tiles, created by artist Kristina Vallery, will be available for $5 a piece. Lest you think it's all frivolity, a new component has been added to the event - social awareness topics for artists. March's topic is artists' health care. This change in direction stems from the change in leadership of the 100th Monkey. The Tacoma Art Group is working with Sue Pivetta and Lynn Di Nino to transition the event, with the goal to "keep with tradition as much as possible and evolve as necessary." They plan six to eight monkey events each year, always on the second Thursday of the month. Great! More wine for me!

100TH MONKEY TACOMA, 7-9 p.m., Freighthouse Square's Rainier Ball Room, 2501 E. D St., Tacoma, free admission, 100thmonkeytacoma.org.
