Honestly, we don't know who the hell is in the Long Beach Rehab Band. Lyon Pride Music has booked the band in several Northwest venues, including Jazzbones and the new Rock N Roll Lodge four days apart. Pre-show hype still has Qball fronting the band. Qball grew up in the early SoCal punk rock days playing and writing songs with old friend Dennis Danell of Social Distortion, who died in 2000 of a brain aneurysm. Qball produce the first three Social D records. Qball owned Fenders ballroom in Long Beach, Calif., where he met Sublime lead singer Bradley Nowell, who died in 1996 of a drug overdose. In 2002, after the break-up of Long Beach Dub All Stars, Qball decided to tour paying tribute to Nowell. Qball found Matt Myers and they took the music of Sublime to more than 30 countries, touring for 10 years as Sublime LBC. Isreal Joseph, former Bad Brains singer joined Sublime LBC, who was replaced by Derek Hooks for personal reasons. So ... Qball and band will roll into town to perform the songs of Bad Brains, Sublime and other punk, surf and funky reggae tunes.
