Through March 21: "Global Perspective"

The Gallery at TCC

And then you just stop. You stop whatever it is you're doing and you sit back and you inhale slowly and you just sort of decide, right then and there, to shift everything around, just a little, to look beyond your world and connect with more energized fervor and realize you do not want to wake up in 10 years or even 10 days going, crap, I could've connected more, I could leave the house more, I could've laughed in another language, and then you just decide and you smile to yourself and feel that slight shift of awareness and perspective and, yes, you'll experience a global perspective. Of course, it's a New Year and you're broke, so you settle for the "Global Perspective" exhibit at The Gallery at TCC. According to hype, the exhibit explores "the ever-expanding web of connections that brings ideas and people from disparate cultures and locations into contact. Artists have always drawn on thematic and stylistic influences from beyond their native cultures, but this show demonstrates how globalization, the Internet, and other factors have accelerated the give-and-take." Suddenly, you feel more renewed, purposeful, awake, relaxed, worldly.
