Most of the time they wash dishes in exchange for a day's ticket to ride. They probably drive a beat-up ride. And they definitely don't have full-ride dental plans. But the ski bums who careen through Warren Miller's annual ski-adventure films have this unnerving ability to inspire - for at least a few divine moments - some frighteningly irresponsible fantasies of chucking it all and moving to Telluride. No more riding the boss's butt. No more rides in the company vanpool. They give it all up for crisp mountain air, sculpted legs and a ticket to ride the snow. The 64th installment in the Warren Miller series, Ticket To Ride will take filmgoers on an action-packed ride with the world's best skiers and snowboarders - from heli-drops in Alaska, to speed riding in Kazakhstan and even, um, ski babes in Iceland. One of the most awe-inspiring moments of the new Warren Miller flicks is a segment on a war veteran and ski enthusiast who had lost his legs in combat. This soldier was able to come back and do what he loved on his mono-ski, delivering a crowd-erupting backflip. Ride on!

WARREN MILLER'S TICKET TO RIDE, 6 and 9 p.m., Pantages Theater, 901 Broadway, Tacoma, $21, 253.591.5890
