  • Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Tacoma - Northend. Blues Vespers Birthday Bash Benefit. Immanuel pastor and the originator of Blues Vespers Rev. Dave Brown turns 65 on August 18th. He decided to celebrate by bringing people together for great music, food and to raise money for Immanuel's musician's medical relief fund and the Walter Lowrie Speaker Series. Jimmy Vivino is the featured artist. He will perform with the Mark Riley Trio, Paul Green and B-3 master Buck England. Formerly from New York City and now from Burbank guitarist, vocalist Jimmy Vivino has just released the highly acclaimed recording of a live performance at Levon Helm's Woodstock barn, Jimmy Vivino and the Black Italians: 13 live. He is best known for his role as the Music Director on the TBS late night show "CONAN." Vivino has been a consistent element in O'Brien's late night career, starting with the first episode of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in September 1993. In June of 2008 Vivino moved from New York to Los Angeles and worked as Music Director/guitarist/arranger on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien," "The Legally Prohibited from Being on Television Tour" and currently leads "Jimmy Vivino and The Basic Cable Band" on "CONAN." When not appearing weeknights on TBS, Vivino divides his time between recording sessions and live gigs throughout the country. In addition to his solo work, Vivino plays with the successful Beatles tribute band "The Fab Faux." Vivino has also recorded and played live with such legends as Johnnie Johnson, Hubert Sumlin, Levon Helm and Al Kooper. Earlier in his career Jimmy got his start producing playing and arranging for such artists as Phoebe Snow, Laura Nyro, John Sebastian and Donald Fagen. The Immanuel Musician'sRelief Fund is used to help musicians without adequate insurance with their health related expenses. The Walter Lowrie Speaker's Series brings national and international speakers to. Tacoma to promote public conversation and engage our community with new ideas. Award winning Blues Vespers is a Blues concert with poetry and a reflection by Rev. Dave Brown. Blues Vespers is at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 901 N J Street in North. Tacoma. After the music there will be a fundraiser meal prepared by The Imagined Table (suggested donation $10) . Reservations are encouraged (253-627-8371). All Ages. 5 pm. free.
