Are you ready for your close up? It's Friday night. You're home alone. You could do some laundry. Or you can replace the sweat pants and disgusting slippers with halfway decent clothes and look through the peephole at Alec Clayton's artistic talents. In the 1980s his paintings were figurative and often dealt with sexual content, including poking fun at society's attitudes about sex. In 1988 he and his wife, Gabi, invited friends and students from The Evergreen State College to examine and discuss the paintings. Gabi, a film student at the time, filmed the session. The film, and two other of Gabi's films about live action and stop-action animation of paintings being created, will be screened and discussed Friday night at B2 Fine Art Gallery. When was the last time you discussed a film about a discussion about art in an art gallery? Alec's art will also be on site ... to discuss. Bring your camera.

OPEN STUDIO, FILM VIEWING AND DISCUSSION WITH ALEC CLAYTON, 7-9 p.m., B2 Fine Art Gallery, 711 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma
