There's a magic rainbow that connects Tacoma and Olympia. An ethereal, colorful, sparkly bridge that connects us in many ways: art, music and beer, for instance.

Next week, a burlesque event like no other will make that rainbow shine a little brighter, make that connection a little stronger and make your eyes bulge a little bigger.

"All's Fair in Love and War" is a collaborative performance that brings together Tacoma's Gritty City Sirens AND Olympia's TUSH! Burlesque.

Bring us the smelling salts!

While there have been guest appearances exchanged between the two troupes, this is the first full-length production and features a Valentines theme.

One highlight of the night will be a Westside Story inspired routine.

"This a terrifically choreographed masterpiece with approximately 15 ladies - give or take - with some added surprises," says Bettie Beelzebubb of TUSH! "The two troupes have been rehearsing together and having a wonderful time preparing for this very very fun show."

The evening also promises to explore the many faces of love.

"TUSH! and the Sirens will present to you the multifaceted emotions of passion, temptation, lust, envy and revenge. Bring your sweetie, or your ex! Or meet someone new!" screams the hype on Facebook. "Put some heat under your seat as the South Sound's burlesque sweethearts put together a night of irresistible entertainment!"

How about the love between the two troupes?

"TUSH! loves the ladies of Tacoma's exciting Sirens," says Beelzebubb. "All of them are creative, inspiring talents who are simply a joy to know and work with. They are all so fun - and funny - as well as sexy as hell. They have some terrific solo acts and group routines for this show - so does TUSH! - and altogether this show is a real celebration of not only LOVE in the Valentine sense of the word, but of friendship and sisterhood."

The show takes place at Olympia's Capitol Theater. For those crossing the rainbow bridge, the Phoenix Inn is offering rooms at a special rate. Key word: Capitol Theater.

If you need your burlesque fix much sooner, TUSH! and the Gritty City Sirens are a part of the Sweet & Spicy: A Valentine's Day Burlesque show Thursday, Feb. 14 at the Pantages Theater in Tacoma. At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 TUSH! will perform at the Weekly Volcano's Best of Olympia Party inside the Capitol Theater.
