Saturday, March 2: "The Canadians Are Coming"

Oakhouse Restaurant & Bar

By Ron Swarner on February 25, 2013

When the Weekly Volcano heard the Oakhouse Restaurant & Bar was hosting the best talent from Canada Saturday in a show called The Canadians Are Coming, we. ... Now come on. Is that a chortle AND snicker? The performers beat a talented pool of competitors to get in the show, including a tone-deaf Zamboni driver, a braying moose and Anne Murray (we hear that the moose came in first place). The prelim judges Gordon Lightfoot, Corey Hart and Alan Thicke certainly had a tough decision to make. Oh, sit back down on the chesterfield, you rangy Canadians, the Weekly Volcano is only teasing. We tease because we love. It's a comedy show featuring Greg Kettner, Dennis Lintonqua and Ed Hill. Kettner has opened for Norm MacDonald and performs more than 300 shows a year. Hill tweeted this Feb. 22: "I just burned 500 calories in 30 minutes with a slice of pork chop and a microwave. #whatamIdoing"
