Thursday, March 1: "Tacomic Art Show 2.0"

Amocat Café

By Volcano Staff on February 23, 2012

Jesus. Has it really been five years of R.R. Anderson's Tacomics? Seems like it's been at least seven, maybe more. Since his somewhat humble beginnings, including being named "Tacoma's Best Gadfly" by a certain rag what seems like eons ago, "Anderson's biting weekly sketches have become ingrained in Tacoma, part of our fabric, like stop lights that never change and functional alcoholism.

Sunday at Amocat Café, according to hype, is your chance to "Celebrate five long crushing years of RR Anderson's hyper-local political cartooning history." Expect more than 40 actual Tacomics on display as well as the world's largest Tacomic, an eight-foot tall replica of Anderson's cartoon love letter to WalMart and the Tacoma Elks Lodge from September 2011.

Folksingers in Hell will also be on hand to dole out some tunes.

The commie-pinko drum circle - aka Tacoma Art Show 2.0 - kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
