David Oaks is something of a mental illness and human rights crusader who sticks up for the often voiceless. According to hype on the Capitol Theater's website (conveniently, he'll be there Friday night), Oaks, "founder of MindFreedom International, has been working since 1976 to protect the rights of psychiatric patients around the world." Oaks's talk, "Curing Normality: The Mental Health Revolution," will be followed by a Q&A, and is presented by BRICK and co-sponsored by the Evergreen Icarus Project.
