Sunday, Dec. 26-Saturday, Jan. 1: Model Train Festival

Washington State History Museum

What's going to happen to the Washington State History Museum's Model Train Festival if Gov. Gregoire and the state legislature drastically cut the museum's funding? It's a good question, and one you may want to ponder while checking out this year's 15th annual Model Train Fest, opening Sunday. There will literally be everything a model train aficionado could hope for: Little bridges. Little trains. Little railroad crossings. And lots of potential fun for old people and little kids alike.

[Washington State History Museum, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Dec. 26-Jan. 1, regular museum admission $6-$8, 1911 Pacific Ave., Tacoma, 888.238.4373]
