Sunday, June 27: The Fucking Eagles

People's Park

By Matt Driscoll on June 23, 2010

If the Fucking Eagles show up at your party, your party fucking rocks. There's no other way to put it. These guys - Tacoma garage rock stalwarts, through and through - don't mess around. There are only so many hours in a day. Mickelson and the boys aren't going to waste valuable rock-time throwing their fucking name behind something that's not fucking sweet. I should know. I invited the band to my last birthday party at Chucky Cheese, to no avail. Still rightfully basking in the glow of last year's instant classic, Midnight Sour, the Fucking Eagles will whole-heartedly endorse the Urban Art Festival at People's Park Sunday with a massive dose of smoking-amp, Tacoma-fied maximum R&B - the kind that smells like 30 years of dust burning off. Be there.

[People's Park - Urban Art Festival, with Voxxy Vallejo, Hotels, Blame it on the Girl, Pioneers West, The New Low, Basemint, Clinton Fearon Band, noon to 9 p.m., free, Ninth Avenue and MLK Way, Tacoma, tacomaurbanart.com]
