Wednesday, April 7: Public Safety in Pierce County

Wheelock Student Center

By Matt Driscoll on April 1, 2010

There are plenty of dangers to contend with living in Pierce County. Few people know this like Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist and Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor. Hell, just about every gruesome thing that goes down in Pierce County crosses these guys' desks at some point. So, who better to address public safety than Lindquist and Pastor - as they'll do Wednesday for the City Club of Tacoma?  According to hype, topics of discussion will include gangs, the "Clemons Seven", the court backlog and Lindquist and Pastor's vision for a successful criminal justice system.

PREDICTION: Given the chance, Lindquist will publicly divulge his intense love for the show Mad Men. More impressively, however, he'll parlay this admission into quality "face time" on at least two local television networks.
