Starting Saturday and going into Sunday, our area's best high school wrestlers will converge on the Tacoma Dome for the WIAA Mat Classic - the yearly battle royale of Washington State high school wrestling. With studs in every weight class, and enough high school pep to make you gag - the Mat Classic is way more entertaining than your typical T-Dome home and garden show or monster truck melee. Sadly, this year the Mat Classic will be without longtime announcer Ed Aliverti, who died earlier this month at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer. Expect the entire weekend to be a tribute to Aliverti.

PREDICTION: Even at the Mat Classic, some high schooler is going to be embarrassed by the way his n**s look in a wrestling leotard.
