Medicine Creek Winery is a boutique winery just outside of Olympia. This weekend, the winery is hosting a free concert in its tasting room-and there are few ways better to enjoy a beautiful July weekend than with wine and music. The winery's tasting room is located in a converted barn with views of the barrel room and dance floor, and has an atmosphere not unlike a vintage New Orleans brothel (sans ladies of the night).

The live music will be provided by Ben Potter and special guest Jessica Lynn. Ben Potter is a county-rock singer/songwriter who has performed around the Northwest for decades with several bands, including The Edge and Common Law. His latest CD is titled "These Days" and was released in 2010. Jessica Lynne is a unique country singer, from Denmark, who has released a CD titled "Spiritual Cowboy" and is often compared to Loretta Lynne and Tanya Tucker.

Medicine Creek Winery's tasting room will be open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The live music will be on from 5 p.m. till about 8 p.m.

The concert is free, but you can also choose to enjoy some wine tasting while you're there, which varies in cost. The winery specializes in red wines and you can buy wine by the flight, glass, or bottle. Wine flights are $10.50 and include three two-ounce pours. Glasses of wine are $7.50 each. Free popcorn is available if you'd like some snacks along with your wine, or you can purchase meat, cheese, and cracker deli trays.
