U bet I caught a buzz

Hidden just around the corner from Downtown Puyallup's Stewart and Main Street intersection sits a little store where people love craft beer.

The Station U-Brew, thriving now for approximately three years, was created by owner Steve Samples and hosts a bar that seats six people and pours six different beers on tap. All six beers, coincidentally, are brewed in casks located less than six feet behind you as you belly up to that tiny six-person bar.

Samples opens up his beer-creating knowledge to anyone that asks, and not only assists you in creating your very own keg of beer, but teaches you the science behind what goes into making that delicious keg of fermented hops.

I simple had to have three drinks to soak up all this beer knowledge.

Bartender's Choice: Railcar Pale Ale

New friend Chris Statler educated me on the IBU (International Bitter Units) of this specific pale ale: 15. The Railcar Pale Ale has a rating of 15 out of 10 on the bitterness scale. I quickly determined at what range on the bitterness scale all my friends would rate if I were to ever bed Ryan Gosling.

Most Popular within the last hour: Hobo Rhubarb Pale Ale

This was some good shit. If baseball's Tacoma Rainiers mascot Rhubarb were to ever turn into a hobo, I'd still drink this beer. Was it high on the bitterness scale? No idea.  The beer buzz I had at this point, however, was enough of a high for the moment.

My choice: Carry On Porter

I'm hardcore, man. Third beer, my choice, and I go for the porter. What? They said there were three Snickers bars inside this beer! I did what any girl would do when it comes down to a chocolate/beer combo: Drink!

It was when Tyson handed me a spoon with peanuts that had been strained from the brewed snickers beer that I realized I had found home. Finally, a place where men feeding me cold beer and beer-laden peanuts from a Snickers candy bar existed and didn't make me any less perverted than I already sound.
