I won't get into the details of how she earned her nickname (more than 10 years ago while overseas), but I will tell you that there is no way I was going to check out a traditional country saloon named "Buck Wild" (located next to a military base) without someone named Bandito Betty by my side.

According to the staff, come Friday and Saturday nights, Buck Wild Saloon fills from wall to wall with anxiously horny cowboys, military men and, fortunately for them, girls who like cowboys in the military. As for my single sidekick, Bandito, she could give a shit about these type of men. During the entirety of our recent Wednesday night trip to Buck Wild, she all but wanted to strangle me with a plastic lasso. (Never again will she date a military man. ....)

Regardless, it was Bandito's duty to tag along as I scoped out the Coyote Ugly-themed establishment, dubbed "The Best Bucking Bar In Town," in order to report back to all the hopeless romantics who gander at this lil' ol' Meat Market column.

With beer pong, pool tables, no cover for the ladies and random drink and food discounts, the appropriately named Buck Wild Saloon (open every day from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.) holds true to all its hype. On weekends we were told sweaty bodies fill the generously sized dance floor as drunken women try their best to ride a mechanical bull in the sexiest way possible. (If possible at all.)

During our visit, Bandito and I secretly wondered if the girls dancing on the bar were drunk as well, and if the word "choreography" was ever going to be in their vocabulary.

Despite these secret questions, no one else seemed concerned. Shots of liquor flowed like water, cold beer was like gold and the food portions were bigger than Kanye's ego.

Buck Wild Saloon is by far one of the meatiest meat markets in Pierce County.

But then again, sometimes a girl - like Bandito Betty - just needs to become a vegetarian.
