Friday, Nov. 12: Rare Groove Scorpio Party

Tempest Lounge

By Volcano Staff on November 11, 2010

More stuff you'll never learn from VH1's "I Love the '80s": Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five's pioneering 1982 cut "The Message" was the first (and only) hip-hop record ever inducted into the United States Library of Congress - not that it makes up for being screwed over. The inventor of all DJ stylings known today never made a dime from the royalties. In honor of Scorpio, one of the Furious Five, The Tempest's Rare Groove night of funk and soul tunes will be renamed the Scorpio Party. Go support Scorpio's talent.
