Yes, we're in love with Future Bass. What's not to love? It's woozily smooth with a little dub, some Dirty South bounce, some mini-backpack drum 'n' bass, sassy house, badass soul, squiggly squeaks, breaky beats, distorted hip-hop samples, wobbling bass lines - like pathological gamblers through paychecks. DJs Broam, Bobby Galaxy, Mr. Melanin, Del Brown and Najamoniq Todd give the night a schizophrenic patina, complete with projected video and live visuals. These DJS know how to squash a hip-hop beat into a booty-quake skidmark without losing the hook, then slide into eerie synthesized keys topped with a wobbly bass pulsation that sounds like that intracranial hemorrhage that comes from lengthy totem pole discussions in a cupcake shop.

FUTURE BASS, 9:30 p.m., The New Frontier Lounge, 301 E. 25th St., Tacoma, no cover before 11 p.m., $5 after, 253.572.4020
