Baby Dub

¨I was listening to a children's music radio show in New Zealand a few years ago when I first heard Baby Dub. Despite only hearing a few tracks, I could tell that this CD was amazing. Its catchy rhythms and delightful melodies make this a fantastic CD for all audiences young and old.

Baby Dub has a very relaxed vibe and rather simple melodies that are well put together with a magical sort of style. As all good dub should, it has great basslines to exert your subwoofers and fill your room with delightful bass.

Although Baby Dub is mostly instrumental, most songs have samples of Kiwi babies making funny baby noises in an echoing dubby style. It's really ridiculous. Some songs like “La La Laa” are upbeat and sound like the perfect soundtrack to a happy adventure on a beautiful day. You can't help but smile when listening to tracks like this.

The last track “Sleepy Dub” is more downbeat but has an incredible sense of peace which is well fit to a lullaby track.

Besides being a good listen for children, this album is equally enjoyable for adults who like dub (or who don't yet know they like dub).

Baby Dub was originally issued in New Zealand in 2004 and was reissued in 2006.
