Envy envy

What I blew my paycheck on this week.

Fantastic designer labels with excellent flattering cuts in some of the newest and hottest styles and pattern trends are what one will find at Envy, a North Tacoma boutique fully stocked with women’s clothing and accessories.

Accessories, ah yes. Envy’s large wall displays that imitate art hold a princess’s ransom in semi-precious baubles. In the of-the-minute style, robin’s egg-sized stones are polished to a soft sheen and then cut into teardrops, oblong spheres and fat horizontal ovals held in simple settings. These Mother Earth-hued gems dangle from long ropes of delicate silver and bronze chain that hang across the breast to settle on the rib cage or are linked tight to create collarbone grazing adornment. Keep in mind that even with the overwhelming amount of large jewelry currently being worn and sold, elegant pendants have made a decided comeback and can be found  at Envy as well ($10 and up).

On the clothing racks, Joe Jeans may be a bit pricey ($128), but almost no other jeans wear as well.

Cutesy tops for summer shimmer in ethereal colors and whimsical styles ($25 and up). We especially love the silvery-soft baby blue silk tank top with barely-there lace and ruffle blouse worn on top. Buttery cream with a metallic sheen, long-sleeved shirt should have screamed Pirates of the Caribbean due to more lacy ruffles, but saves itself by having a simple front.

Check out the $20 bargain rack in front of the store.
