The Weekly Volcano is the alternative newsweekly for the South Puget Sound. We are a small company with a great team, flexible workplace, and significant contacts in the community.



We are looking for an advertising sales account executive to contribute to the Weekly Volcano’s growing success.



The ideal advertising sales account executive is a results-oriented, energetic, self-starter with a strong track record. This person will become a key part of our marketing and sales team, contribute to our advertising sales strategy, and sell advertising with a cheerful, consultative sales approach.

Duties



Work with existing clients to design the best advertising packages for their needs



Use entrepreneurial skills to entice new clients



Work with advertising agencies to build awareness about the weekly Volcano.



Develop and manage customer relations and sales



Assist with optimization of advertising serving programs



Participate in setting and executing sales strategy



Reports to the Sales Director

Required Experience



2-3 years in advertising sales, online experience and knowledge of Tacoma/Olympia market a plus



Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Computer savvy: software, online sales terminology



Some understanding of graphic design a plus

   

Miscellany



Base pay plus commission
