“Sleeping Beauty,” a stage version of the classic tale complete with a dude in a dragon suit, is a fun show if you have some time to kill. There’s a curse. There’s a spindle. There’s a deep sleep and a charming prince out to rescue the narcoleptic royalty. Tacoma Little Theatre is staging this musical through this weekend.

“operation stardust”

The Stardust gang goes to war in “Operation Stardust” at Harlequin Productions. This musical drama is the latest chapter in the World War II saga about a troupe of nightclub singers struggling to sing, dance and stay alive as the war rages around them. This episode has the group heading to do a USO gig in the same sort of hot and sandy places Americans still find themselves fighting in these days.

Another show keeping the War going is “The 1940s Radio Hour” at Capital Playhouse. This musical comedy offers big band music and swing dancing straight from the Officer’s Club overlooking the English Channel.
