Chicks drink cheap

Cans in downtown Tacoma hosts ladies night

By Natasha Gorbachev on October 11, 2007

Cans has been teasing me with an announcement they made recently that has my fancy boots stompin’.

This location at 100 S. Ninth St. will now be home to an incredible Thursday night that was made for the girls and all of the guys who admire them.

Cans will be slingin’ 50-cent drinks from 9 p.m. to close and no cover charge for the ladies on Thursdays, starting tonight, and I guarantee this will quickly become the Scene of the Crime for getting your weekend started early.

Also added to their Thursday lineup is high-tech lighting and none other than DJ Pedro, a guy who gets around the South Sound and MySpace just as much as I do. He’ll be offering Live and Loud from 9 p.m. to close — spinning top 40 R&B, hip-hop and old school rap dance.

Now, I’m excited to check this new scene out, which I know will be flooded with people tonight and every Thursday because DJ Pedro’s reputation precedes him and what girl can deny a 50-cent drink?!

Relating to that price, I hope you’ll all remember something very important. Just because the drinks are dirt cheap doesn’t mean that your bartenders are hustling any less. I always tip for what the full price of the drink would’ve been, and then some. That’s why bartenders love and remember me.

Speaking of love, let me just say that overall, I heart Cans and I frequent it all the time. It’s a comfy space where I grab my Bud Light can, chat up the beautiful and fun staff, dig on the popcorn chicken, rock out to the music and flirt with the peeps around me. Hella heads are also starting to heavily populate the downstairs pool room.

Ladies, I can’t encourage you enough to try Cans out because I swear this place is crawling with guys of all shapes, sizes, professions and personalities. However, I’d be more than happy to keep all of those boys to myself, too.

So, if you’re of the booty-shakin’ flavor, add Cans’ new Thursday night to your list of to-dos.

But watch out: that dance floor has yet to get a load of Natasha.
