Manhattan Blowouts

Going big at Biella by Ruth Michelle

By Jessica Corey-Butler on August 30, 2007

Hairstylist Denise Francis finessed a couple of Manhattan Blowouts at the Biella Launch Thursday night: one set of the curls graced the head of spa owner and operator Ruth Soukup, while the other frolicked atop the head of Women of the Military Makeover winner, Jennifer Nagle, whose husband, newly home from Iraq on leave, murmured a positive response about the curls, all the while unable to take his eyes off his wife or leave her side.

The style, which can be purchased as a blowout in Manhattan for about $300, consists of product (Francis likes the Alterna Caviar) round brushing, and pinning; the pins are left into curls which appear to hang by invisible curlers, and which are further dried, then cooled, and lightly finger-brushed out.

The result is a head full of voluptuous curls that evoke envy-instilling socialite glamour.

Perfect for a night reuniting with a just-in-town love.
