List of bizarre errands

What I spent my paycheck on this week

Oh, happy errands

Some days just make me happy, like last week as I had a list of bizarre errands ranging from “stamps” to “super glue” and including “dog toy” “bird seed” and “something Tacoma.”

I parked my car in Proctor and started walking. First stop, the ever-helpful post office where I stashed a book of forever stamps and the brand new Louis Comfort Tiffany stamps. Then off I trotted to the Wag Pet Market to find the perfect Sniffany fluffy box and two Truffle Treats for Bella, the pup of the couple who recently hosted us on a trip to California. Then I was off to the Pacific Northwest Shop where I grabbed that perennial T-Town fave, Almond Roca.

Quickly crossing two streets, my next stop was Chirp and Company for the bird seed I needed, bummed that they were temporarily out of the shell-less stuff my birdies usually like (though they seem to be dealing with the shelled seed mixture just fine, actually).

And for one last stop, I swung into Tacoma Trains and Hobbies for Super Glue for a baby plate I murdered (death by microwave).

Oh happy me, all errands finished on a sunny day — extra credit for extra exercise!

Saying “hey” to the new Fred

Fred Meyer on 19th and Stevens is officially new and improved!

I wasn’t aware of that when the wee one and I initially went in — she was whining, “I’m hungry,” and I needed paint brushes and rollers, a couple of plants to fill in “dead” holes where I killed some snapdragons, footless Capri tights a’ la Madonna circa 1984, and wine.

The kid mentioned brightly, “Mother, it’s shiny in here!” And I had to agree.

Add to the shiny happy, sale happy for Jess — painting implements were buy two, get one free, and as an added bonus I found a few frames also buy two, get one free for some bare spots on my walls (so that I can frame some “look at us having fun this summer!” for posterity).
