Learn something while listening

Air guitar is fun because it doesn’t require lessons, it doesn’t hurt your fingers, and an invisible guitar collection takes up a lot less shelf space than a real one. But air guitar won’t get you a sweet endorsement deal and tour support across the country from guitar equipment manufacturer Digitech. I bet Travis Larson is glad he doesn’t play air guitar.

Larson and gang hail from San Luis Obispo, Calif., but will perform twice in Tacoma this week while the Digitech Digi-truck-tour comes through town and makes a promotional stop at Tacoma’s Guitar Center. Larson and gang will do a guitar demo, clinic and concert in the GS parking lot in the big DIGI-truck today. They will do a more intimate show at Mandolin Café on Sunday. The coffee shop show won’t quite be acoustic, but it will be a scaled-down version of the instrumental rock extravaganza at Guitar Center.
