Rhapsody in art

Denise Smith, owner of A Rhapsody in Bloom Florist and Caffe Latte on Sixth Avenue for 17 years, is in a constant state of reinventing her shop. Currently, she’s morphing her combination coffee shop/florist/live music venue into a space where local artists and artisans can sell their work.

But never fear — the coffee shop/florist/live music on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:30-9:30 p.m. from June to October will remain, with Jerin Falkner coming to play on Monday the 19th. According to an e-mail sent out by Smith, “All ages are welcome, and donations are smiled upon.”

Lola sale

Dame Lola sales make me happy, very happy.

See me smile, since the latest Dame Lola Sale started June 13, with styles from Rebecca Taylor, Hudson, AG, Theory, LA Made and 1921, among others, heading into the hands of happy (and now well dressed) shoppers.

And lest you’re not really into prices being slashed, as all that ink shed makes you sad, you’ll also be happy to see new summer styles, like tops and dresses by Orion of London, and then your smile will widen as you peruse the shoes.

Hurry in; though the sale lasts till June 30, chances are only the sizes that absolutely don’t fit you will remain if you put off a visit.
