Mondo Bizarro and South Sound Running

What I spent my paycheck on this week

Dads, grads and bags

In the past, the Significant One and I have argued over the whole Father’s/Mother’s Day gift process, with him having told me, “You’re not my mother, therefore I don’t buy you a mother’s day gift, and I’m not your father, so you don’t buy me a gift.”

To which I say, horsepucky, and then act as if I’m playing along with his game, even though this year he didn’t play by his own rules when he bought me a Mother’s Day gift certificate.

For my own father, I ordered a cheesy graduation picture, which I’ll frame when I get it. I figure maybe that can make my dad proud.

For her father, the wee one did the shopping with a wee bit of help from mom.

At Mondo Bizarro, she found a replacement dashboard hula dancer as well as a pin-up magnet. Even though the magnet was supposed to be for dad, she’s used it more as a My Little Pony magnet set prop. And while the hot little pinup is queen of the magnet ponies, the Avenging Unicorn play set with impaling unicorn and spiked-in-the-gut mime from Mondo Bizarro has become a great friend and looming presence with her plastic My Little Ponies. The message they hear: “This could be you at the jaws of Bill. Be afraid, be very afraid.”

Running man

Since the Significant One decided he has time to be Joe Athlete, (but not, apparently, to mow the lawn), I found some running garb for him at South Sound Running.

His preferred technical tanks were looking pretty bad, and his shorts were smelling worse (note to self: anti-microbial fabrics are a good thing, don’t worry about how they’re made).

Though he initially looked at the gray, white and blue tank with raised eyebrows, being Mr. Basic in his own fashion choices, he tried it for a test drive and found its weight to be superior to anything else.

I got brownie points, and shopped for myself in the process.

Score!
