Drum n Bass Session

Jungle music at Hell\'s Kitchen!

Drum n bass currently enjoys not nearly as much of the fawning media attention lavished on it in the mid-‘90s, when magazines anointed Roni Size and Goldie the kings of rapid-fire jungle. Then the R&B-flavored two-step genre has proved more commercially viable, at least in the U.K. And with that, pure jungle has gone back underground, with the kids continuing to tear it up at regular club nights. Tacoma’s Donald Glaude will headline Drum n Bass Session at Hell’s Kitchen with The Dowlz and DJ Marcus Wednesday.  While Glaude can be associated with more of a funky, edgy house sound, than jungle, I’m sure our hometown hero won’t disappoint.  Anyway, he’s a sight to behold behind the booth, Glaude gives it his all, as was seen last Friday night at The Swiss. — Suzy Stump
