Old School Drop Out

Playing the what they like at Q’z

They describe their music as “modern hard-rock melodies with a few old school headbangers sprinkled in.” Old School Drop Out is not a band that caters to people who would be just as happy with a jukebox. They don't take quarters for song requests. They stake their territory as a real rock band in the raw. Their motto is if they happen to play any "hits" at all, it's only because they are songs that rock and they like them. According to guitarist Brian Eckels, the people who walk up and request some sappy pop hit from the ’70s probably won’t get to hear it. “We aren't even trying to win over any fans of Ashley or Jessica,” says Eckels. He says Old School Drop Out is playing for the people who wonder where the real rock bands are. This weekend this real rock band — also known as OSDO (pronounced Oz-doe) — will be in Spanaway. — Angela Jossy
