If the lines at the mall, heightened traffic, and irritating jingles aren’t driving you up a wall, well then, with patience like yours, you should consider teaching in a public school. But if, like the rest of the world, you’re starting to feel the holiday season taking its toll, treat yourself to a special screening of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Blue Mouse Theatre. The 1946 classic features James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who, with the help of an angel named Clarence, rediscovers the true spirit of Christmas. It’s a benefit for the Family Emergency Fund.

[Blue Mouse Theatre, Thursday, Dec. 7, 2 p.m., $5, 2611 N. Proctor St. Tacoma, 253.752.9500]
